Vietnam recorded a total of 4,247 cases Monday evening, raising the tally in the new wave to 157,868. The bad news comes in the context of the new, more contagious Delta variant, although Vietnam has vaccinated more than 6.41 million people so far, including 659,064 who have received two shots.
Ho Chi Minh City, the epicenter of the ongoing fourth coronavirus wave in Viet Nam, recorded 2,267 cases, which was soon followed by the southern provinces of Long An and Binh Duong with more that 400 cases each.
Thinking it had COVID-19 under control, Vietnam decided not to enter the global vaccine market, but is now lagging behind other countries in the region and the pressing need for vaccines is now a reality.
In coming months, the plan is for Vietnam to start manufacturing Sputnik V vaccine, thanks to a progressive technology transfer from the United States. The plan is to construct a factory that aims to produce 200 million vaccine doses in the first half of 2022.

But what exactly is an oxygen concentrator and do you need such a medical device at home?
So what is an oxygen concentrator? Is it available for purchase in Viet Nam or do you have to seek other markets, like the European, to obtain one in your home country? Let’s first answer the first question
What is a home oxygen machine?
An oxygen concentrator (also referred to as a home oxygen machine or O2 machine) is a medical grade device that made to provide the patient with pure, medical-grade oxygen through an oxygen mask. Can you buy an oxygen concentrator machine in Viet Nam?
Yes. As long as the Vietnamese local oxygen stores have stock, you can purchase an oxygen concentrator there. The problem is the rapidly decreasing (maybe already depleted) stock of home oxygen machines in Vietnam. The other problem is cheap Chinese-made units sold universally online. These so-called “oxygen concentrators” are far away from what a true oxygen concentrator should be. But this is a topic of another article.
So if you want to buy an oxygen concentrator for a patient in Viet Nam, you practically have three main options:
Option 1: Purchase a brand new O2 machine from a local store (if the stock has not already depleted).
Option 2: Find a used machine online, but BE CAREFUL: MAKE SURE to replace the filters and accessories before using it at home! A contaminated filter or a nasal cannula can spread viruses from patient to patient!
Option 3: Buy a brand new oxygen concentrator from a licensed European store. Here’s the main reasons why sometimes this is the best choice:
